As if AIS wasn’t already remarkable enough with our state-of-the-art Used Equipment Certification program, legendary 24/7 product support service, $100 million rental fleet, and our staff of over 550 dedicated employees, we have decided to take things a ‘step’ further by implementing a new program for recent high school graduates called S.T.E.P.: Summer Technician Entrance Program.

S.T.E.P. will begin on June 9th and will allow eight students an outstanding opportunity to learn about the operations and mechanics of heavy machinery, free of charge. This will help to better prepare the prospective technicians for secondary schooling and expose them to the conditions of a working AIS facility so they may better identify their future plans. Each week will consist of four to five days of classroom instruction and hands-on shop time. Students will learn techniques for troubleshooting and repairing, as well as the operating procedures for heavy equipment of various makes and models.

The prospective technicians come from all across the state of Michigan and will be living on the AIS grounds of our Lansing, Michigan branch in this incredible, newly renovated dormitory for the nine weeks of the summer. Check back in with our Facebook page throughout the summer for updates on this exciting new program!
